MANAMA: Thousands of worshippers yesterday converged on the Al Fateh Grand Mosque, Juffair, and other places in Bahrain to offer prayers on the first day of Eid. Prayers started early in the morning with traditional fervour and a virtual sea of humanity visible at all places. Prayers were held in Riffa, Manama, Muharraq and Isa Town as well.
In Hoora, the Al Ansar Centre conducted prayers in the open grounds near Ashrafs, where visiting preacher Sameer Munderi led a congregation of around 1,500 people.
The organisation also conducted prayers in Muharraq, Riffa and Hamad Town, where thousands took part.
The Al Ansar Centre is a non-profit Islamic organisation run under the patronage of Muslim Educational Society, which organizes Eid prayers in open grounds in various locations in Bahrain.
After the prayers, thousands of people, among them scores of expatriates and non-Muslims, visited the Al Fateh Mosque.
