Sitra Butchery power past Al Qaydoom

SITRA Butchery topped Group 'B' in the 29th Seqaya Ramadan Football Tournament, being held at Seqaya grounds in Salmaniya.

A 6-3 win over Al Qaydoom Manpower saw Sitra Butchery lead the group with nine points from four matches.

They are being followed by three teams - Al Qaydoom Manpower, BMI Bank and Kokito - with six points each.

However, Kokito have a relatively easy match in hand against bottom of the table Al Seba'a later this week.

Should Kokito win full points, they should either come first or second in the group for a place in the second round, where the top four teams from each group qualify.

Aref Hussain opened the scoring for Sitra Butchery in the third minute, but Sharif Al Samahiji put the scores back level eight minutes into the second-half.

Restored

But Al Qaydoom's celebrations could only last two minutes as Mohammed Abbas restored Sitra Butchery's advantage. The same player made it 3-1 early in the second-half.

Aqeel Al Malkawi fired the fourth goal later on after evading the entire Al Qaydoom defence and goalkeeper Hussain Al Hulaibi.

Ali Abdulla reduced the deficit for Al Qaydoom after collecting a long pass from Ali Al Seba'a to smash the ball past goalkeeper Mohammed Nabeel.

But Sitra Butchery regained their four-goal advantage later on thanks to Abbas who completed his hat-trick. Teammate Aref Hussain then finished off the scoring spree with the sixth goal, before substitute Samir Al Qaydoom found another consolation for Al Qaydoom in injury time.
