Boycott idea good

This refers to 'Boycott needed' (GDN, July 30) by Abu Mohammed.

I support his call to boycott regimes that "put economic interests ahead of human life".

It is time, I think, to restore the Israel Boycott Office scrapped a few years ago. The atrocities committed by the Zionist regime against our Palestinian brothers can't go unpunished. The least we can do is boycott their products and of those who support Israel.

We should also boycott Iran for its role in Arab Spring troubles. I am not sure what products we will have to do without, but at least we should ban mihyawah. That will teach them a lesson.

I am not sure what Russian products we should boycott, as I don't know much about them in Bahrain's markets. But they are haram anyway.

I hope Mr Mohammed will not mind delaying boycotting US and Chinese products, though, for two reasons. One because we can't afford to live without them and, second because we don't dare to - not necessarily in that order. I am all for a boycott. Bring back Geoff - Geoff Boycott, of course! Bu Ali
