BAHRAIN's national futsal team will soon start their preparations for a number of regional and international competitions this year.
The nationals will compete in the Arab Championship in Amman, the GCC Games in Saudi Arabia, as well as the World Championship qualifiers.
This came during the Bahrain Football Association (BFA) beach football and futsal committee meeting, held at the association's premises in Riffa.
The meeting, chaired by BFA vice-president for technical affairs Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, also reviewed a report on Bahrain's participation at the Third Asian Beach Games in China.
They also discussed the reformation of the technical and administrative teams of the beach football team, which is yet to be announced.
The committee decided to provide a beach football grounds with international standards that will serve the game in Bahrain in the near future.
An idea to organise a beach football tournament later this year, along with activating the beach football league in 2013, were also among other issues highlighted at the meeting.
Meanwhile, the committee reviewed the technical and administrative reports on the advantages and disadvantages of the BFA and Diyar Al Muharraq First-ever Futsal League held earlier this summer.
Shaikh Ali and his committee members also had provisional ideas to form the technical and administrative teams of the national futsal team that will begin their preparations next month ahead of three continental championships in 2013.
Meanwhile, the committee honoured Pars International Hotel during a reception ceremony held recently.
The gesture was in appreciation to the hotel's contributions in organising the BFA Diyar Al Muharraq Futsal League, which concluded last month.
Committee representatives Ahmed Al Amer and Aref Al Mannai visited the hotel and presented a commemorative gift to hotel's general manager Ali Al Shehabi and marketing supervisor Hamad Nader.
Al Amer thanked the hotel for their key efforts at the league, where they provided valuable prizes for the most prominent players as well as the fans attending the matches.
