FOUR Indian fishermen arrested for allegedly straying into Saudi Arabia's territorial waters were released last night.

Ismail Ibrahim Kuppachintepurakkal, 23, Joseph Alexander Justin Justi, 41, Sahad Thitharakath Cheriya Muhamed Kutty, 27, and Boarmannan Dharmar, 25, were detained as they were fishing for shrimp.

Their Bahraini employer Sayed Abbas told the GDN they were released yesterday after he met Saudi Coastguard officials in Dammam and paid a BD500 fine.
