JEDDAH: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, last night arrived in Saudi Arabia on a short visit.
He met Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Defence Minister Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The Saudi Prince stressed strong relations bonding both kingdoms, describing HRH the Crown Prince as a member visiting his family.
He said Bahrain enjoys a special status in Saudi Arabia, which Saudis defend like their own country. The Saudi Prince said harming any GCC country is not acceptable to Riyadh, stressing the need to confront any foreign threats.
"We seek to consolidate GCC integration and continue with our steps towards achieving our common interests and establishing GCC union," he said.
HRH the Crown Prince thanked Saudi for its support, which he described as a factor of stability and power in Bahrain.
Earlier, he was welcomed by Prince Salman's special adviser Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
He was accompanied by Interior Minister Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, his sons Shaikh Isa and Shaikh Mohammed and other top officials.
