A FOOTBALL manager convicted of spitting in the face of a referee has lost an appeal against his conviction.
The 35-year-old Sitra Football Club coach was fined BD20 by the Lower Criminal Court for the offence, which happened during a game against Hidd on 2010.
The Bahraini had been found guilty of spitting on the referee after he was ordered to sit in the stand for interfering with the game.
However, the High Criminal Appeals Court yesterday threw out his complaint.
