A FORMER Indian School student has been selected to join a prestigious international society for overachievers.
Shreyank Ranganath will become a member of the National Society of High School Scholars - a society founded by Claes Nobel, who established the Nobel Prize Foundation.
Mr Ranganath, whose father works in Bahrain, will pursue his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering at Manipal Institute of Technology in India. He left Bahrain after he passed his final year examinations this year.
Mr Nobel said the society, based in Atlanta, US, recognised top scholars and invited only students who have achieved outstanding academic excellence.
"On behalf of the society, I am honoured to recognise the hard work, sacrifice and commitment that Shreyank has demonstrated to achieve this exceptional level of academic excellence," he said in a statement. He is now a member of a unique community of scholars that represents our very best hope for the future."
The society has 450,000 members in 130 countries.
