NORTHERN Governorate 'A' defeated Customs 'B' 9-3 as they started their title bid in the 2012 Police Open Beach Football Championship on a high note.
Hassan Ebrahim and Mohammed Jameel scored a hat-trick each for the winners, with Mohamed Al Mehanna (2 goals) and Hassan Al Saffar (1) also being on target. Ali Najem (2) and Ali Al Muraikhi (1) scored for Customs 'B'.
In another match, Customs 'A' had a flying start beating Central Governorate 'A' 5-1, with Mohammed Al Tahmazi firing all five goals. Mahdi Abduljabbar scored the losing team's lonely goal.
Public Guards followed suit, beating General Directorate of Traffic 6-5 in an action-packed game. Mousa Mubarak (4) and Ahmed Abed (2) scored for the victors, while Talal Mishaan and Yousef Buqais (2 each) and Abdulhussain Reda (1) scored for Traffic Directorate.
The fourth and last game of the day saw Special Forces register a hard-fought 2-1 win against Civil Defence team, thanks to goals from Ahmed Hassan and Khalifa Faisal. Hassan Abdulreda was on target for the losing team.
The first day's matches were officiated by Sultan Mejali and Mohammed Al Dhaen from the Public Security's Sports Federation.
