MORE than 800 people attended an Indian classical dance Bharathanatyam performed at the Indian Club auditorium, Manama, by well-known dance teacher Sandhya Prajod and 11 of her disciples making their debut.
Ms Prajod is teaching at Indian Music and Arts Centre and has performed in India and Bahrain, and won several prizes.
Chief guest was Indian Community Relief Fund chairman John Iype. Also present were club president Vijay Bhatia, general secretary Ulhas Karnavar and centre chairman Francis Kaitharath.
The performance by Swathy Shiju, Devika Babu, Gopika Babu, Anjana Sathian, Dr Manju George, Needhumol Thomas, Anjali Sivaram, Anju Sabu Joseph, Sanjan Rajamani, Abhirami Ramachandran and Krishnendu Valsaraj, was accompanied by a live orchestra with Prajod Krishna (vocalist), Biju Devakaran (violin) and K S Ganesan (mridangam).
