AL AHLI, Al Malkiya and Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK) registered victories over East Riffa, Samsung and Bahrain Specialist Hospital (BSH) respectively in the first Bahrain Futsal League at the Khalifa Sports City's Gym in Isa Town.
In the third week of the competition, BBK outplayed BSH 15-6 in Group 'B' for their maiden win in two games.
Hussain Kazerooni stole the limelight scoring seven goals for the victors, who were down 4-6 at half-time.
Thamer Shammous (3 goals), Ihsan Al Saati and Mohammed Al Satrawi (2 each) and Mohammed Janahi were also on target for BBK.
For BSH it was their third straight defeat. Their goals came from Ghassan Abdulghani and Mohammed Reda (2 each), Salah Ali and Hussain Eid.
Al Ahli Club followed suit, edging out East Riffa 5-1 in the same group. Goals from Hassan Abdulkarim and Mustafa Yaqoub gave Al Ahli a 2-0 lead at half-time.
Brace
They added three goals after the break including a brace by Yaqoub and one from Saleh Majeed to secure their third straight win and top the group with nine points.
East Riffa, whose only goal was scored by Khalid Rashid, are out of competition after they were handed their second defeat in a row.
The last game of the day ended 4-2 for Al Malkiya against Samsung in Group 'C'. It was the first win in two games for Al Malkiya, who revived their chances of progressing with this victory.
Sayed Amin Hadi (2 goals), Kumail Hussain and Mamdooh Abbas (1 each) were on target for Al Malkiya, who were tied 1-1 at the break. Khalifa Zaiman and Ebrahim Al Bakar scored for Samsung, who suffered their second consecutive defeat.
League action continues on Sunday with three matches on the cards. The Interior Ministry team take on Al Shabab in Group 'C' at 4.45pm.
It will be followed by two matches in Group 'D' as General Organisation for Social Insurance challenge Nomas Projects at 6.30pm and Um Al Hassam encounter Al Hala at 8.15pm.
There are 20 teams representing clubs, companies, banks and ministries taking part in Bahrain's first ever futsal league, being sponsored by www.Kooora.com and Sport K.
The teams were divided into four groups of five each, with each group winner and runner-up advancing into the quarter-finals knock-out stage.
