ELEVEN young local urban artists yesterday went head to head to compete in the first street art competition to be held in Bahrain.

The Batelco Street Art Contest was held at Block 338 in Adliya and artists competed under the theme Batelco Blackberry for SimSim Social.

The event, which featured live music and hip hop dances,was open for all to attend and encourage the artists while they worked.

Photographs of the completed street artwork will later be uploaded on Facebook and Twitter, and the public will be asked to vote for their favourite by either pressing 'Like' on a Facebook image or re-tweeting their favourite images on Twitter.

The artist with the most likes and retweets will be presented with a grand prize.

The contest was organised by Batelco's youth marketing team in association with Al Riwaq Art Space, Adliya.
