A BAHRAINI woman who insulted a policeman outside the Interior Ministry during a protest on April 5 was fined BD200 yesterday.
Opposition activist Zainab Al Khawaja was convicted by the Lower Criminal Court.
She started shouting at the officer when he started filming her as she demanded the release of her father Abdulhadi Al Khawaja, who is on a managed hunger strike after being jailed for life in connection with a coup plot.
Ms Al Khawaja is standing trial in a separate case for allegedly assaulting and insulting two policewomen and trying to block King Faisal Highway during an illegal protest.
She is also standing trial along with another woman for allegedly inciting hatred against the regime, assaulting three officers and taking part in an illegal gathering in December.
