I REMEMBERED my late mother and cried when I read Ali Kazerooni's letter "Monsters at large" (GDN, May 18). One of his siblings punched his mother and broke her nose and the other called her a whore.
I was brought up by my religion to treat my mother and hold her in the highest reverence over all others in my life. I tried all my life to repay her for just giving birth to me and I could not; she was the most loving and caring person I could have wished for. Now she has left; I miss her and yearn for the chance to gain Allah's blessing through pleasing her.
I ask Ali to pray for his mother and give to charity on her behalf as children' good deeds will reach a parent after death.
I pray to Allah to have mercy on all our parents and grant them the highest ranking in the heavens and bless them with the companionship of our beloved Prophet Mohammed peace be upon him.
