A show of cultural diversity at parade

PEOPLE from more than 45 countries showed off their cultural and national diversity at the first international charity parade in Bahrain yesterday. The International Costume Parade was hosted by the American Women's Association (AWA) at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence and Spa and featured more than 100 women dressed in their national outfits.

There were also national flags, music and languages from all over the world and the event was held to celebrate the AWA's diverse membership, said president Tosin Arowojolu.

It was put together by AWA fashion co-ordinator Adriana Skaloud, who has organised other shows in Oman and Nigeria.

A lunch followed the parade and all proceeds will be donated to the AWA charity fund, which supports 35 charities in Bahrain.
