THE Batelco Bowling team has continued its fine season by adding the Chevron Scratch and Bapco Handicap League titles to the BKIC title captured earlier in the year.
In the Chevron Scratch event, the Yaqoob Al-Shehabi-captained team romped to victory three weeks before the end of the competition.
They eventually finished with a fine total of 136, ahead of runners-up Boom on 114 and Zain Bahrain in third on 112.
The Bapco Handicap League meanwhile, due to the handicap system in place, was a much more tightly-fought competition and one that saw the Batelco win out by only four points from Boom, whose 8-0 thrashing of Zain Bahrain in the final round meant that champions elect had to beat team Deaf to secure the title.
They duly did that though to finish the league on 107 points, with Boom on 103 and Kingdom in third on 98.
The dominance of the Batelco team in the Awali Bolwing Club-based competitions was evident in the annual list of individual award-winners, which included the high average, high series, high game and perfect game accolades to Yousif Falah, Ahmed Al Gaoud and Ali Maroof and Mohammed Sultan respectively.
In the ladies division, Nadia Al-Awadhi swept the boards as she claimed the high average, high series and high game prizes, while the most-improved player award went to Ali Al-Mas.
Yousif Falah, Mohammed Al-Jahromi, Hameed Taqi, Ali Aqeel and Yaqoob Al-Shehabi have also all qualified for the Masters series.
The knockout stage of the competition gets underway on Saturday, when Batelco face off against Sting, Scorpions take on Deaf, Kingdom play Wood Peckers and Isa Town are up against Zain Bahrain.
