BAHRAIN will take on Thailand on Saturday in the fifth/sixth-place play-off of the ACC U-16 Elite Cup in Malaysia after a storming 152-run victory over Iran in their final group game yesterday.

Into bat first at Bayuemas Oval, Bahrain were buoyed by a magnificent performance from Man-of-the-match Akshay Bharadwaj, who top-scored with 75 for a grand total of 216 all-out in 40 overs.

In response, Iran, who started the day level on points with their opponents, struggled to contain the bowling of the likes of Harshun Shukla and Abdulla Fayyaz and were all-out for 64 inside the 22nd over, with Shukla nabbing a five-wicket haul.
