MANAMA: The first Base Oil and Lubes Middle East Conference will open today at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Hotel and Spa.

The two-day Bapco-sponsored event is being held under the patronage of Energy Minister Dr Abdulhussain Mirza.

Bapco chief executive Gordon Smith will address the opening ceremony at 9am.

More than 120 officials representing 16 GCC and foreign countries will attend the inaugural conference.
