A MAN convicted of setting a farm ablaze will have to wait a month to find out if he will win his appeal.
The 38-year-old Bahraini was jailed for three years for arson by the National Safety Court last September
He set palm trees on fire at a Jid Ali farm, which then spread to the rest of the farm, according to court files.
He then filed an appeal against his sentence at the Supreme Criminal Appeals Court. According to court documents, the defendant confessed to the charges.
"I saw police destroying a mosque in Bu Kuwara which angered me, so I went to the cold store and bought a lighter which I used to burn the farm near the mosque," said the defendant in court documents.
The appeal was adjourned to June 6 for the verdict.
