Businessman dies of heart attack

A BUSINESSMAN died of a heart attack in the Manama Central Market yesterday moments after opening his vegetable shop.

Indian Hussain Mohammed, who has lived here for 20 years, reportedly collapsed after complaining of chest pain.

His colleagues called an ambulance, but the expatriate was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Police partially cordoned off the market as an investigation was carried out.

The Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre is assisting the Indian Embassy to have Mr Mohammed's body repatriated to Purathur in Malappuram district of Kerala.

He is expected to be flown out tonight as the deceased's brother currently residing in Bahrain is working on family arrangements in Kerala.

Mr Mohammed is survived by his wife and three children - two boys and a girl - and his brother.
