A PAKISTANI labourer reportedly suffering from financial problems has killed himself less than two months after coming to Bahrain.
Muhammad Abid Muhammad Ali was found hanging in his room in Askar by a colleague at around 7pm on Monday and has become the 19th person known to have committed suicide this year.
The father-of-one worked as a labourer for Nass Group and came from the Mardan district in Khyber Pakhtunkhw, formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province.
He only arrived in Bahrain on February 29.
"He (Mr Ali) came to Bahrain only two months ago and was a good worker," said a company spokesman.
"He didn't come for work on Monday and when his roommates went back home in the evening, they found him dead.
"Police arrived at the scene and transferred the body to the Salmaniya Medical Complex morgue.
"We are awaiting a police report to repatriate the body after completing legal formalities."
Another colleague said Mr Ali, who was married with a four-month-old son, had financial difficulties.
The expatriate's death came just a day after an Indian worker was found hanging in the bathroom of his flat in Manama on Sunday.
Luqman Al Haddad Contracting Company worker Murugan Vishwanathan, 34, came from Chennai in Tamil Nadu.
